Biles as well as her younger sister Adria, who were adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles' grandparents in Spring Texas (in the Houston area) and grew up in the Houston area. Simone was interested in gymnastics when she was just six when she took a field trip for day care to Bannon's Gymnastix and remained there for eleven years under the guidance of her trainer Aimee Boorman. Biles was awarded silver and gold medals at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships 2010 on the floor and vault prior to her first appearance in 2011 in the elite division of gymnastics competition. She dominated her sport less than two year later. Her consistency, her vivacious personality and the level of effort in her four events -vault uneven bars, balance beam floor exercise and floor exercises -- helped to set her above the others.
